The statue in the book of Daniel 2 is like a watch that tells time from the time of Babylon down to the end. Each part of the metal statue was another powerful empire that would try to rule the world.

God repeats the prophecy in Daniel 7 by showing the same time and the same world empires as different animals, a lion with two wings, a hunch-backed bear, a leopard with four wings and then a terrible, awful, ugly beast that looks like a dragon which had ten horns.
God repeats the prophecy in Daniel 8. But this time the first kingdom (Babylon) was about to be destroyed so God only showed the kingdoms that came after babylon. This time there was a ram with one horn higher than the other, a goat with four horns, and a little horn that did terrible things.

Babylon - head of gold Babylon - lion with two wings

Babylon was a very rich city, but they did not worship God. They worshipped idols. They had a ruler called Nebuchadnezzar who built a golden image. Everybody had to bow down to it.

Daniel 2:32 tells us that, "This image's head was of fine gold and his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and thighs of brass".

The Medo-Persian empire followed the Babylonian empire. The Medo-Persian empire is a combination of the Median Empire and the Persian Empire. The Medo-Persian Empire is the second kingdom and it was inferior to the Babylonian Empire.

Greece was the third kingdom after Persia and before Rome. Alexander the Great was the leader of them. They defeated the whole world in a short time. I think eleven years. Every time he was sleeping almost ready to fight he had a dream about a high priest walking out to meet him and he won every battle because the Lord gave him the dreams. Alexander died at 33 and he had defeated world at 31 or 32! When he died, his four generals took over. Their names were Lysimachus, Ptolemy, Cassander and Seleucus.

A note from the teacher: This is what he actually wrote (unedited) without the help of his parents. He asked me to spell the name of the generals before handing in his work. I thought it was just so precious and ought to be preserved for ever. Jon-Michael if you are reading this at age 33 I hope that you are still writing for your God.

Rome by Tanya
The Legs of Iron The Dragon with Ten Horns
Rome - legs of iron Rome - beast with ten horns

The dragon and the legs of iron represents Rome and it followed Greece. Rome is strong and iron is strong, and that is why God used iron to represent Rome.
Rome had two types of government. First, the Caesars ruled Rome but then the church ruled Rome.
See the Map of the Roman empire.

The Dragon, the Woman and the Child

Church and Christ - woman with child In Revelation 12, a great red dragon tried to kill a woman and her baby. Then God took the child to heaven and saved Him. So the dragon became very angry and went to kill the woman and the rest of her children.

This describes how Satan tried to kill the baby Jesus and showed that he would be resurrected. God protected Jesus by telling Joseph and Mary to run to Egypt until king Herod was dead. King Herod allowed Satan to use him to do evil. Later, Satan tries to destroy the church after Jesus had gone back to heaven.

The church suffered many persecutions by the Romans. Christians were thrown to the lions while the Romans watched as if they were watching a sport event.

After that, the leaders of the church persecuted the people in the crusades and the inquisition.

Europe - Ten Nations by Donald
The Feet of Iron and Clay The Dragon with Ten Horns The Little Horn

The feet were made of iron and clay.
The ten toes represent Europe.
The ten horns represent Europe.

The Little Horn
The next power that came up around the time of the nations of Europe was the Catholic church. It would control Europe for about 1260 years. It was little in size but it was a strong power.

The Three Angel's Message

The three angels In the last days God would send three important messages to the world. The messages are written in Revelation 14.

  1. Love and worship the creator God for the judgment has started.
  2. Babylon had fallen, come out of Babylon. She has committed many sins and God is about to punish her.
  3. Do not worship the beast or his image or receive the mark of the beast.

The Second Coming of Christ and the Judgment by Kevin
The Stone

Rock - the Second Coming

  1. The Stone in the image of Daniel Chapter two represents the kingdom of heaven
  2. We are living in the Last days of Earth's history.
  3. Jesus may come any day now.
  4. Just as the stone destroyed the image, the coming of the kingdom of God will destroy the kingdoms of the world.
  5. Like the stone in the image, the kingdom of God will fill the whole Earth.
  6. The Kingdom of God will last forever.

The Resurrection by Andrew
The resurrection When God comes he will take the people who love Jesus to heaven. Then for 1000 years Satan lives on earth and the world becomes rotten. Then God gave the bad people one more chance and they still weren't good. Then the bad people tried to fight their way into heaven, but it did not work.

Heaven

After the resurrection, we will travel through space to a wonderful place called Heaven. This is where God lives. We will live there for one thousand years.
We will meet new people, learn more about God and grow up to be the children of God. We will find out why some people are not in Heaven.

After the thousand years are over, we will come back to earth with a big city called the New Jerusalem.

The New Jerusalem is a big city that is 1500 miles in all three directions. It will be taller than where the space shuttle flies. Heaven

After the judgment, God will destroy the old heavens and earth. He will create a new Heaven and Earth. There will be no sun or moon because God will live here with us. Earth will become the new Heaven.

The Love of God - Why I Love God

Shanthi: I love God because He is good to all the people. He is the love of my heart because He is very kind and He loves all the children. I want to go to His home to be with Him forever.

Summary

Only God knows the future, and He can tell his servants the prophets what will happen. The prophecies of Daniel show that God can see the future over 3000 years before it happens.
